Freezing the conflict is always a continuation of the occupation. This scenario is not acceptable for Ukraine. “Freezing” the war is only beneficial for Putin; for him it will be a pause to prepare for a future attack. The leader of the Ukrainian state, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said this in an interview with Bild, FREEDOM reports.
“This was the case with Minsk, so there is no faith in freezing the conflict. Wherever there has been a freeze in conflict, it has resulted in a slow continuation of occupation. It may be with weapons, or it may be a political occupation. The country will not be able to develop fully, because even if this is not a “hot” phase, it is still a constant war. Nobody will invest,” the president said.
Putin is using the pause only to prepare for a new attack, Zelenskyy is convinced.
“Of course, some will be happy. The world will say: “Yes, we managed to freeze the conflict, the missiles are not flying.” But only until Russia simply increases production and reserves of military equipment, missiles, drones, and analyzes all the mistakes it made at first,” the Ukrainian president noted.
He emphasized that Russia will then “offer you your life.”
“Not the one you want, but the one they offer. They will tell you: “European Union? Forget about the European Union. NATO? This will never happen. It’s like with Belarus – an allied state. Therefore, the issue of a frozen conflict is like a pause when you are watching a movie. Only this is not a movie, but reality. This is just a pause, but a pause is for Putin,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.
