Israel may have been planning an operation to sabotage pagers in Lebanon for at least 15 years through shell companies.

ABC News, citing sources in U.S. intelligence, reported this.

The sources claim that Israel is linked to the production of communication devices that detonated in various parts of Lebanon. They said the attack planning involved shell companies, where Israeli intelligence operatives and their assets concealed their activities under a legitimate company that produced pagers. Some employees were unaware of who they were actually working for.

Journalists mentioned that one such organization was BAC Consulting, registered in Budapest, which had a contract to produce pagers under the Taiwanese brand Gold Apollo. However, a Hungarian government representative told ABC News that these devices were not in Hungary, and BAC Consulting acted only as a “trading intermediary” without any production in the country.

On September 17 and 18, pagers and other communication devices used by the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah were remotely detonated in Lebanon, resulting in at least 37 deaths and nearly 3,000 injuries.

Previously, Hungary denied allegations that pagers for Hezbollah were manufactured by BAC Consulting.

It was also reported that intelligence services in Bulgaria and Norway have launched investigations into potential involvement in producing the pagers used by Hezbollah, which were detonated this week.
