The US leadership has the political will to maintain and strengthen support for Ukraine. And there is a corresponding proposal in the US Congress due to the intensification of the election fight. Unfortunately, the question is stuck. Political scientist Volodymyr Fesenko stated this on the FREEDOM TV channel.

“But there is a problem there that concerns the security of the United States – both internal and external. Therefore, in fact, this is a matter of US national interest. Either they solve this problem, or there will be more problems for US national security both inside the States, on the border with Mexico, and outside,” he explained.

Fesenko expressed the opinion that the United States will try to find various options, including compromise ones, on how to still ensure support not only for Ukraine, but also for the United States and Taiwan.

“But first of all, Ukraine. And the largest support package for Ukraine is planned at more than $61 billion. And Ukraine’s need for such assistance is the greatest. Therefore, I think that there will be attempts to solve this problem. Yes, unfortunately, there is an internal political problem, but there is also a need, political will to solve this problem, so I hope that we will not wait until the end of the election fight in the United States,” the political scientist believes.

He noted that while the pause is in effect, various actions are being taken to ensure that this kind of support is provided through third countries, sometimes through intermediary mechanisms.

“Financial support, in particular, will now be provided through the World Bank, there is Japanese money. But an agreement on this was reached during President Zelensky’s visit to the United States in December last year. I think they will look for other options, other tools. In particular, the volume of military support from individual European countries, both EU and non-EU countries, is increasing. In particular, these are Great Britain and Norway. We are talking not only about budgetary support, but primarily about military support,” Fesenko explained.
