The U.S. government has announced a new $725 million security assistance package for Ukraine, including HIMARS missiles, artillery shells, drones, Stinger systems, and other weapons.

This was outlined in a statement by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, released on Monday, as reported by Ukrinform.

“As part of the increased security assistance announced by President Biden on September 26, the United States is providing another significant package of urgently needed weapons and equipment to our Ukrainian partners defending against Russian attacks,” Blinken emphasized.

The package includes weapons already available in Pentagon stockpiles, valued at $725 million.

The assistance features Stinger missiles; counter-drone ammunition (c-UAS); HIMARS missiles; 155mm and 105mm artillery shells; unmanned aerial systems (UAS); anti-personnel mines; Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems; TOW anti-tank missiles; small arms and ammunition. Additionally, Ukraine will receive demolition equipment and explosives, equipment for critical infrastructure protection, spare parts, support equipment, training, and transportation services.

“The United States, along with over 50 countries, stands united in ensuring Ukraine has the capabilities necessary to defend against Russian aggression,” Blinken stated.

As previously reported, during a NATO ministerial meeting of foreign affairs chiefs, Antony Blinken plans to discuss collective support for Ukraine as a priority in international security.
