At the moment, the Russian army does not have enough artillery and equipment. The turning point at the front has already come, and the enemy is preparing for defense. This opinion was expressed today, on April 4, on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel by a military expert, analyst, and major of the reserve of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksiy Hetman, commenting on the failure of the “big” winter offensive of the RF Armed Forces.
“As the UK Secretary of Defense said, 97% of the Russian army is now fighting on the front line, they do not have another army that they could involve in these hostilities. In principle, they are fighting here, except for those who are at the point of permanent deployment (that is, on the ground), the entire Russian army is fighting. This is their “big offensive”, which was so announced, they talked about how they would break through Bakhmut and then move north, towards Liman and Slavyansk, surround our grouping and the next step – they would move south to side of Ugledar and there will again be a double ring. In short, they told a lot of things, nothing came of it,” he said.
The expert emphasized that it was very important that even before the start of this “offensive”, it was said on various information platforms that with such a large amount of manpower and still equipment, it is possible that the enemy will advance short distances in some sectors of the front.
“And so it happened, he advanced not even by tens, but simply by kilometers, somewhere by meters. Basically, this is to be expected. With such a massive attack, this is even acceptable, we are engaged in active defense, we do not stand in one place, we actively move and change positions. That and all they were capable of. Then talk about what they will strengthen … I would like to know, what are they going to strengthen? The first “Second Peace Army” was destroyed (about 200 thousand dead), now we are slowly starting to destroy the second “Second Peace Army”. I think the same fate awaits her as the first one,” says Hetman.
According to the analyst, the Russian Army does not currently have the necessary equipment, the main thing is the equipment with which they could provide their newly mobilized servicemen in accordance with their own standards.
“Therefore, on the one hand, they lack equipment and everything, artillery, and on the other hand, there are still enough manpower and equipment on the front line, so it’s unlikely that we will defeat them very easily. But the turning point, personally in my subjective point of view, the turning point has already come in their offensive. They are already making positions for defense, they are preparing to move on to defensive actions, their propagandists, including Solovyov, say that a lot of weapons have been delivered to Ukraine, that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing for an offensive and that there is no need to be ironic about this, as he says, you need to prepare for serious battles. That is, they, in principle, are already even propagandists who should lie without blushing, they are preparing public opinion for the fact that they will defend themselves and retreat, while we will advance,” summed up Oleksiy Hetman.
