Russia does not plan to support the extension of the OSCE Mission to the Ukrainian-Russian border at the checkpoints Donetsk and Gukovo from September 30.

This is reported by UA with reference to RBK-Ukraine.

If such a decision is made, Russia will provide unprecedented opportunities for the uncontrolled delivery of material and technical means, military equipment, weapons, ammunition – to ensure the long-term maintenance of the occupation forces in temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions and conduct hostilities against the groupings of the Joint Forces. The occurrence of local exacerbations on the line of a combat clash is not excluded” – said  the Commander of the Joint Forces, Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev.

According to him, the Russian Federation has repeatedly announced its decision to limit the functions of OSCE representatives who perform tasks within the occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, in particular on uncontrolled sections of the state border. Therefore, this statement by the Russian Federation may be another attempt to put pressure on the leadership of Ukraine.
