During the new offensive of the Russians, which is expected in February-March, the Russian Federation will try to capture the Lugansk and Donetsk regions within their administrative borders. “What we are talking about now is an attempt to attack to solve some problems. Most likely, they will be associated with the final capture of the Donetsk region, possibly with the capture of the Luhansk region. This will be an attempt to return the situation to the situation before the start of the Ukrainian counter-offensive in September last year, when we retook the Kharkiv region. They need this in order to make it easier for themselves to capture the Donetsk region, ”Popovich said.
