The visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the G7 (G7) summit in Hiroshima (Japan) is important for Ukraine, it demonstrates the support of Kyiv and unites the allies. This was stated by orientalist, expert on East Asia, master of foreign policy Natalya Plaksienko-Butyrska on the FREEDOM TV channel.
She noted that the president’s visit to the G7 summit in Hiroshima allowed him to meet with many leaders and discuss the issue of Ukraine.
“Zelensky’s visit to a higher level raised the emphasis on both negotiations within the G7 and, in general, attention to our problem. But it is also important that the leaders of other countries were invited to the summit. And Volodymyr Zelensky managed to meet with many politicians,” the expert noted.
According to her, the issues of Ukraine were raised very seriously at the summit, and the leaders of the countries that were invited to the meeting listened to different opinions – not only of Ukraine, but also of their partners.
“India is neutral regarding war and is actively cooperating, for example, with Russia in trade relations. But at the same time, the prime minister emphasizes a very important message for us – he said that he would do everything possible to help Ukraine and stop the war, ”added Plaksienko-Butyrskaya.
She also gave an assessment of the military assistance to Kyiv from Tokyo.
“Japan is the only country in the G7 in the Asian region. And today this is the country that helps Ukraine and supports it very seriously. And we can see this in contrast, for example, with other countries in the region. Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is trying not only to support at the diplomatic, political, economic, humanitarian level, but even to find opportunities to provide non-lethal weapons for Ukraine. And this is also not very easy for a country that has a pacifist Constitution, ”said the guest on the air.
She also said that the Russian Federation is trying to influence the decision of South Korea regarding larger support for the Ukrainian state. The expert also assessed the call of the participants of the Hiroshima summit to China to put pressure on the Russian Federation for the withdrawal of troops from Ukraine.
