The President of the Russian Federation and his entourage were thinking about general mobilization, but they were stopped, – former Deputy Chief of the General Staff Romanenko

Russian President Putin will no longer be forgiven for such losses as the offensive actions of the Ukrainian army in the Kherson and Izium directions – this can develop into his political death. This opinion was voiced by the former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Igor Romanenko on the FREEDOM TV channel.

Romanenko stressed that the Ukrainian military had already seized the strategic initiative at the front and switched from defensive to offensive actions.

At the same time, the expert recalled that heavy fighting continues in the Donetsk direction, where the Russian invaders are trying to attack.

“In certain areas and cities, the Russian invaders are still trying to carry out offensive operations and assaults,” – he specified.

Thus, the situation at the front, including the successful offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region, forced Putin and his entourage to decide on mobilization.

“They even thought about general mobilization, but they were dissuaded. We see the reaction of citizens, it is very different. Although in general, they will recruit these declared 300 thousand soldiers, ” – the military expert believes.

According to him, despite the explanations of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Shoigu that these will be people with combat experience, in Russia, everyone will be drafted into the army.

“This is already manifesting itself. The military registration and enlistment offices need to carry out the appropriate plan, since the situation is quite difficult for them. And Putin came to this for himself due to the need to save the situation. He will not be forgiven for such losses, as in the Kherson and Izium directions. This threatens him with removal from power, political death with the prospect of not only political,” – Romanenko said.

On September 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the people on federal television channels, where he announced a partial mobilization in Russia.
