The European Union considers the occupied Crimea to be Ukrainian territory.
This was stated at a briefing in Brussels by the spokesman of the European Commission for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Peter Stano, the relevant video of the briefing is posted on the website of audiovisual services of the European Commission, UA writes.
According to him, the European position on the occupied Crimea is very clear.
“The European position on Crimea has been very clear since 2014 and has been strengthened and repeated by the European Union countless times. From the point of view of the European Union, its member states, Crimea is Ukraine. Crimea is a Ukrainian territory that was illegally annexed by Russia in violation of international law” – Stano said.
To remind, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine responded to the statements of the President of Bulgaria.
