The occupiers are accumulating shells to counter the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, – the expert told the details

Although the number of shells that the Russian occupiers use on the battlefield is several times less than it was at the beginning of a full-scale invasion, they continue to look for ways to accumulate more of them. Particular attention is paid to countering the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), trying to distribute ammunition simultaneously in different sectors of the front. Victor Yagun, a military and public figure, major general of the SBU reserve, deputy chairman of the SBU (2014-2015), spoke about this on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel.

“The number of shells that they used at the beginning of the war and now differ significantly. To say that they are not, of course, is impossible. And they use them more than we can afford. That is, the ratio, we will say, is 1:5. The only thing is that we take quality, not quantity,” he said.

According to Yagun, it is possible that the Russian occupiers are distributing shells in areas that they consider more important, for example, in certain sectors of the front to counter the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He also expressed the opinion that the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, most likely, artificially created shell hunger for the private military company Wagner in the Bakhmut direction.

“The factors are different, but the fact that the number of shells they use has begun to decrease is unambiguous,” he stressed.

The guest of the broadcast noted that Russia is trying to replenish ammunition stocks, in particular, increasing their production.

“That is, they work 24/7 whenever possible. But the technologies for making shells are different. In Russia, after all, technologies are used not even of the 20th, but of the 19th century, where accuracy wants to be better. Regarding the countries that can really help with ammunition, Iran and North Korea remained among the allies. Perhaps some of them are trying to collect in the countries of Africa and Asia, but it is not a fact that they can collect a lot there. The latest information that was – this is about the exit of the ship from South Africa, which was supposedly carrying something. But today it is difficult for them, since the shells are necessary to advance in the direction of certain objects, ”summed up Viktor Yagun.
