In accordance with the NATO Charter, Romania must hold consultations with the bloc’s partners. There must be a reaction to the fall on its territory of fragments of Russian drones, with which the aggressor country attacks Ukraine. Military commentator, former spokesman of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Vladyslav Seleznyov, stated this today, September 13, on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel.
“The logic of events implies that Romania, as a country that is part of the North Atlantic Alliance, should, at the very least, hold consultations with other members of this largest defense alliance on the planet. I do not know whether this procedure will take place. But what the reaction should be is obvious. After all, the impetus for the enemy’s aggression, in particular, lies in the lack of adequate reactions to his aggressive actions. Therefore, it is obvious that there must be a reaction, but will there be one?” – he said.
Seleznyov shared that he is quite skeptical about all these processes, because NATO is not only the largest bloc of a defensive nature, but also a very huge bureaucratic machine of military direction. “I think that they will simply get bogged down in the same thoughts and formation of certain informational agendas, but there will be no clear, real reaction to the actions of the Russian army,” he said.
According to the military observer, the only factor restraining the actions of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, as well as other components of the Russian army of occupation, is the effective actions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
“After all, it is our operators of mobile complexes who are fighting enemy kamikaze drones, who are now protecting objects, including grain infrastructure, in the south of Odesa region. Romania is not included in this process, using its means, in particular air defense. No. Their guns and anti-aircraft weapons are silent. The Ukrainian operator of these very mobile and portable anti-aircraft missile complexes is working, covering the sky over Ukraine. And, accordingly, I believe in the Ukrainian Defense Forces, but not in the operational reaction of the countries that are part of the North Atlantic Alliance,” Vladyslav Seleznyov summarized.
It should be noted that another wreckage of a Russian drone of Iranian origin was found in Romania. It is clear who started it. Earlier, Romania spoke fluently about the presence of some foreign debris on its territory.
