On November 19, Bulgarian Ambassador to Kyiv Kostadin Kojabashev was invited to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports about it, UA writes.
The Ukrainian side explained to Kostadin Kojabashev the position of our state on the incorrectness and inadmissibility of the statements of the President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev regarding Crimea during yesterday’s pre-election TV debates.
“They stressed that the words of the current Bulgarian president do not contribute to the development of good neighborly relations between Ukraine and Bulgaria and sharply dissonant with Sofia’s official position in support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state within its internationally recognized borders. We expect the President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev to refute his statement yesterday” – the comment reads.
Ambassador Kostadin Kojabashev assured of Bulgaria’s unchanging position on maintaining the territorial integrity of Ukraine and Crimea as an integral part of the territory of the Ukrainian state; and efforts to deoccupy the peninsula, in particular through Bulgaria’s participation in the Crimean Platform.
To remind, the First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Japarova issued a joint statement to the UN on behalf of 40 states condemning the Russian Federation. Russia continues to violate human rights in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea.
