The government prolonged the emergency situation regime in Ukraine till June 30. Prime minister Denys Shmyhal told this during the Cabinet meeting on April 21, UATV informs.

“The emergency situation primarily concerns the public authorities and their readiness to respond to the challenges of the pandemic. At the same time it’s a reminder for all Ukrainian to remain aware, because the lives of nearest and dearest depend on this”, – Denys Shmyhal stressed.

He also called on Ukrainians to adhere to quarantine restrictions during the May holidays and Easter, because the large crowds are likely to cause the increase in the COVID-19 incidence rate.

“We ask people to stay home on those days. The large crowds on Easter can cause the increase of the incidence rate. It’s only our awareness, adherence to anti-epidemic regulations and vaccination that can stop the virus”, – prime minister added.

To remind, the amount of new COVID-19 cases has rapidly increased in Ukraine recently. As of April 20, 12,162 cases of the disease were registered in Ukraine. It is considerably more than on April 19. That day 8,940 cases were registered.
