The Ministry of Defense is actively working on the creation of a military consultative and training mission of the European Union in Ukraine.

This is reported by UA with reference to the website of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

“We are doing everything necessary so that by the end of this year the military consultative and training mission from the plane of developing a legal base has moved into a state of practical implementation for the benefit of both Ukraine and the EU” – the Minister of Defence of Ukraine Andrii Taran said.

According to him, it is planned to attract 30 permanent advisers from the EU. It is expected that thanks to the active participation of European colleagues and the results of the institutional audit, a multi-level military education system will be created in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and high-quality distance learning will be introduced. Administrative and management processes, as well as organizational and personnel structures of military educational institutions must be transformed. The educational and material base will be improved taking into account the requirements of European education.

The Minister noted that the implementation of such a project will attract the best practices and assistance in the process of reforming the military education system of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“There are very clear initiatives on our agenda, and the signals that we send to our colleagues from the EU are perceived rather positively. And the steps taken by the Ministry of Defense in the course of military reform are an instrument of rapprochement with the EU” – Andrii Taran summed up.
