The EU has just agreed on a NEW – 16th package of sanctions against Russia, Radio Liberty reports.

According to sources connected with the negotiations, the package will include:

  • A ban on transactions bypassing oil price caps and other sanctions for 11 ports and airports.
  • 13 banks will be disconnected from SWIFT.
  • 73 new shadow fleet vessels will be included in the sanctions list.
  • The broadcast licenses of 8 Russian media outlets in the EU will be suspended.
  • The list will also be expanded to include 53 new individuals or legal entities, organizations and bodies.
  • A ban on aluminum imports will be introduced.

The head of the OP noted that it is necessary to prepare a new 17th package of sanctions.

“I believe that sanctions are one of the key mechanisms for containing the Russian desire to kill more. Additional resources are also needed to limit the Russian military-industrial complex and control Russia’s arms,” ​​— Andrey Yermak said.
