The village of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region plays an important role not only in the process of liberating Ukrainian territories, but also in the general tactics of the advancement of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. Oleksandr Kovalenko, military and political commentator of the “Information Resistance” group, stated this today, August 29, on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel. This is how he commented on the information that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on the advance in the Melitopol direction, the troops were successful in the area of the village of Verbove, which is located southeast of the village of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhya region, the liberation of which was reported the day before.
“We can now observe the continuation of the process of driving a wedge between Robotyn and Verbov on the left flank of Robotyn. Robotine has already been released. The wedge has been penetrated to such an extent that the first line of defense has been passed, and at the first stage of the second line of defense, the process of expanding the bridgehead is underway. Directly covering, for example, such villages as: Novoprokopivka and Verbove, as well as advancing in the direction of Ocheretuvate,” he said.
According to Kovalenko, Novoprokopivka is necessary so that in the future the Defense Forces of Ukraine can advance along route 0408 in the direction of Tokmak. There is an advance in the direction of Ocheretuvate, as it is necessary to get on the 0401 route. This is another route that leads to Tokmak.
“And Verbove is a very interesting village. First of all, our actions there are due to the fact that, in this way, we are constraining the Russian occupiers on the left flank, our wedge, for example, to take the encirclement by closing it. The second point is that it is Verbove that gives the opportunity not only to the more successful Ocheretuvate, but also, among other things, to go to the logistics in the Polog area. And here it is a very interesting moment, because in this area there are two routes at once: 0815, 083, which allow us, in principle, to advance further already in the Berdyansk direction. That is, the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions are covered from this section,” said Oleksandr Kovalenko.
