Ukraine has extended the ban on electricity imports from Russia and Belarus for a month.

This is stated in a message on the website of the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities of Ukraine, UA informs.

According to the transmission system operator Ukrenergo, such a restriction does not pose a threat to the operational security of the Ukrainian energy system.

The National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities of Ukraine reported that as of September 23, no letters were received, in particular from the Ministry of Energy and Ukrenergo, about the need to restore imports of electricity from Russia and Belarus.

After discussion, the regulator agreed with the proposal of the Energy Market Department to continue the embargo until October 31, 2021.
