According to press service of NSDC, Oleksandr Turchynov said that this is a successful Ukrainian creation developed as a result of cooperation among product engineers of State Kyiv Design Bureau “Luch” and other state and private enterprises of Ukrainian military-industrial complex.

“During successful tests flight characteristics and performance of rocket systems were checked,” said the NSDC Secretary.

According to his words National Security and Defense Council which coordinates the national missile program assigned the task of developing not only ground-based cruise missile systems but also sea- and air-based missile systems.

“It is very important for Ukraine because after the total disarmament of the Ukrainian Army by the signing of the Budapest Memorandum no missile of this kind remained in the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” he said.

According to the Head of NSDC, with these tests “we have opened a new phase of the missile program per which our Armed Forces should receive powerful high-performance cruise missiles capable of striking out hostile targets at a great distance precisely.”
