Year ago, a ceasefire came into force. Over this time, 45 Ukrainian servicemen were killed in Donbas as a result of shelling by illegal armed groups. There were twice as many deaths in the year before. This was announced in the Telegram-account of the Ukrainian delegation in the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG), UA informs.
Despite the violation by the illegal armed groups, the results of the ceasefire are obvious: less deaths of Ukrainian servicemen, three times fewer wounded, almost three times less shelling compared to the period from July 2019 to July 2020. From July 27, 2019 to July 27, 2020, the Russian-backed soldiers carried out 4257 attacks, 88 Ukrainian servicemen were killed, 494 were wounded. During the ceasefire, from July 27, 2020 to July 27, 2021, 1995 shellings were recorded, 45 servicemen were killed and 163 were wounded.
The Ukrainian delegation noted that the Ukrainian side remains faithful to its obligations in the political and diplomatic way of resolving the armed conflict in Donbas.
There is again escalation in Donbas. 7 Ukrainian soldiers were wounded. The wounded are being treated, one of them is in a serious condition. The enemy fired at the positions of the Joint Forces with heavy artillery.
