Switzerland has enforced economic sanctions against Belarus.
This is stated in the press release published on the website of the Swiss Federal Council.
Restrictions are imposed on goods that can be used to monitor or intercept Internet and telephone communications.
In addition, the new measures restrict trade in various petroleum products and potassium chloride, as well as goods used for the production of tobacco products.
Moreover, the Federal Council imposes restrictions on the provision and trade of financial instruments, as well as on the provision of loans and insurance or reinsurance services to the Belarusian government and other state bodies and institutions.
Switzerland also included the air navigation services enterprise “Belaeronavigation” into the list of sanctions.
The document states that the new measures took effect on Wednesday at 18:00 local time.
Earlier, the European Union supported new sanctions against Belarus as well.
