The Swedish government has instructed the country’s Armed Forces to make disbursements to the capability coalitions in the demining and drone areas within the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG) framework.

According to Ukrinform, this was announced in a government press release.

“This support ensures that Ukraine can develop its drone technology and mine clearance capabilities. It will help the Ukrainian army and the Ukrainian society,” said Defense Minister Pål Jonson.

The allocated 80 million SEK (EUR 7.2 million) is part of Sweden’s 18th military aid package for Ukraine.

The funds will be equally divided between the drone and demining coalitions supporting Ukraine.

As Ukrinform previously reported, Sweden will also procure and deliver 18 additional Archer artillery systems and five ARTHUR artillery radars to Ukraine as part of this aid package, valued at approximately USD 300 million.
