Russia should de-escalate and return to diplomacy.
This was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, UA informs.
“We discussed a significant accumulation of Russian military forces around Ukraine. Tens of thousands of troops are on alert, artillery, tanks, drones, and electronic combat systems. We do not see this build-up changing or decreasing. There is no justification here, this is a provocation, destabilization, and this undermines security in Europe. We want to emphasize that Russia must return to diplomacy and de-escalation of the situation, as well as respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine” – he said.
Jens Stoltenberg stressed that Russia’s new aggression against Ukraine “will have severe consequences and a very high price”.
Earlier, Ursula von der Leyen said that the EU is ready to strengthen sanctions for a new aggression by Russia against Ukraine.
