Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Masashi Nakagome have discussed the issues of strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation and implementation of Ukraine’s Peace Formula.

Stefanchuk said this in a post on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

“I am glad to meet you in person and have a productive dialog. Japan is a reliable partner of Ukraine, and we highly appreciate its political, economic and humanitarian support,” Stefanchuk said.

The parties discussed the strengthening of interparliamentary cooperation, the implementation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Peace Formula, increasing sanctions pressure on Russia, and the prospects for using the aggressor’s frozen assets to restore Ukraine.

“I am especially grateful to Japan for its contribution to demining efforts, support for the energy sector and humanitarian aid. I also look forward to further expanding our defense partnership. I believe that our relations will continue to contribute to strengthening security and stability in the region and the world,” Stefanchuk emphasized.

As Ukrinform reported, Ukraine and Japan established a platform for introducing technologies for the reconstruction and recovery of Ukrainian infrastructure.
