Ukrainian Art Workshops Provide Therapy for Kids With Special Needs

Art is a means of expression that should be available to everyone, and kids with special needs are no exception. This is why volunteers from the “Justice” charity fund bring art workshops to ‘special’ schools, but also organizes various events that gather handicaped children to help them find their own voice. The program is both educational and therapeutical.

Kids are given a chance to draw and design pretty much anything – which both develops their imagination, and improves their skills. What the teachers want to really achieve is to show society that these kids are equal to everyone else because they too can express their thoughts, in ways that ordinnary individuals might not grasp.

Nurturing their talent helps these kids to build their confidence and enables their artistic voice to be heard. The school’s students constantly win various arts competitions, and as its graduates, later get into top art colleges.
