You might say the solar panel market in Ukraine is “electric.”

Appropriately – in the land of sunflowers – the number of households turning to the sun for energy has – both physically and metaphorically – surged.

Over the past three months, a thousand farms switched to the renewable energy source. And that’s double the number from the previous three months, the State Energy Efficiency Agency press service said.

At the end of the first half of 2018, 4,660 private households installed solar panels pumping about 90 megawatts worth of clean energy.

The biggest sun-lovers were in the Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Ternopil regions.
