Mobile sniper groups, who underwent intensive training under the guidance of ranking members of the Russian military at the end of December 2019, arrived in Donbas.

“The mobile units of snipers, who underwent intensive training under the guidance of ranking members of the Russian military at the end of December 2019, arrived at the forward sub-units of the army corps 1 (Donetsk) and 2 (Luhansk) AK,” Ukraine’s Defense Ministry spokesperson said at a briefing, citing the information from the Ministry’s Main Intelligence Directorate.

In addition, during the New Year and Christmas holidays, the invaders arranged the firing positions on the frontline to provoke opening of fire and cause damage to the Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel. The enemy reconnaissance teams were actively searching for vulnerabilities in the defense of the Joint Forces units and potential targets for snipers.
