The filming of the war drama “Myrnyi-21” directed by Akhtem Seitablayev has begun in Kyiv. The film is being created with the support of the Ukrainian State Film Agency.
This is reported by UA with reference to Ukrainian State Film Agency.
The film is based on real events, which took place in the east of Ukraine in June 2014. The first scenes were filmed at the St. Michael’s Cathedral in the center of Kyiv. The director and producer of the film Akhtem Seitablayev broke a plate in honor of the first day of shooting, at the same place on Mykhaylivska Square.
The film has a powerful cast – most of the actors have already worked with the director in his previous films.
The film will feature: Honored Artist of Ukraine Viktor Zhdanov and Roman Yasinovsky (“Cyborgs”), Honored Artist of Ukraine Andriy Saminin, Andriy Mostrenko, Oleksii Tritenko (“Haytarma”), Lorena Kolibabchuk and Maksym Devizorov (“Numbers”).
Also in the film will appear: the star of the military dramas “Cherkasy“, “Kruty 1918“, “Ilovaisk 2014 Battalion Donbas” Evhen Lamakh, Pavlo Li (“Shtolnya”, “Shadows of unforgotten ancestors“, “SelfieParty“), People’s Artist of Ukraine Larysa Rusnak, Serhii Frolov, Maria Shtofa and Zoya Vlasenko.
“The actors are faced with the daunting task of portraying characters based on biographies of real people. The image of the main character, the commander of the border detachment, Alexander Avdeev, is based on the personality of Sergei Vasilyevich Deyneko, the head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, who in June 2014 led the Lugansk border detachment. It was the detachment entered into an armed confrontation with pro-Russian terrorists, and its story became the basis for the film “Myrnyi-21“, the Ukrainian State Film Agency reports.
The director and producer of the film Akhtem Seitablayev told some details of the “Myrnyi-21” script.
“I earned about the feat of Serhii Deyneko and the Lugansk border detachment in 2014. This was the year when I saw the annexation of Crimea with my own eyes and the schemes that were behind it. The peninsula almost bloodlessly passed into the hands of Russia through the local factor. At least, it was he who figured as one of the main reasons in the information space. In Luhansk, the situation was similar: 85% of the personnel of the Luhansk border detachment were locals. This land was native for them, and the people around were the closest in the world. But, unlike the Crimean scenario, the border guards remained faithful to the oath and defended the statehood of Ukraine despite blood ties and all the tricks of the Russian special services” – Akhtem Seitablayev told.
Filming of the war drama “Myrnyi-21” will take place in Kyiv and in the military unit of the town of Vasylkiv, Kyiv region (Joint Training Center of the Air Force). Premiere planned on April 2022.
