Sea Breeze 2018 Ends

On Saturday, maritime exercise Sea Breeze 2018 has ended, according to press service of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

Sea Breeze 2018 started July 9 and continued to July 21. The participants worked out tasks agreed upon by the multinational headquarters for planning and conducting maritime operations in accordance with NATO standards in the Odesa and Mykolaiv regions, and in the Northwestern part of the Black Sea.

The closing ceremony was attended by Ihor Voronchenko, commander of the Ukrainian Navy.

“I am confident in our effective interaction at sea, in the sky and on the ground, that is, everywhere, where joint actions are needed in the name of peace and stability,” said Voronchenko.

He said that by joint work on the tasks of the partner countries the good tradition of maritime friendship and partnership will continue and will become stronger. All tasks were completed.

During the exercise, the ships overcame 2500 miles in the sea, the aviation carried out more than 200 flights, the marines completed more than 400 parachute jumps while half of the jumps were performed at night and 60 jumps were in water, and the divers spent more than 70 hours under water.
