Russian generals are unable to organize any kind of rebellion in the Russian Federation – the main reasons were listed by a military expert

There is no rebellion of generals in Russia today since they are completely dependent on the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and do not represent anything. Such an opinion was expressed by military expert Yan Matveev on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel.

“There is no sign of a rebellion of the generals and the events that occur with the same General Popov are somehow connected with the rebellion of Prigozhin. The most important thing here is to understand that the Russian generals do not have any great independence and are unlikely to be able to realize some kind of rebellion. They are completely dependent on the Ministry of Defense and, in general, do not represent anything special. It is clear that Prigozhin had, in fact, his own private army, and therefore he staged something, something similar to a rebellion. And the generals can’t really do anything, of course, ”he said.

As for the further fate of Wagner PMC, Matveev noted that the mercenaries are heading to Belarus, where a camp has been set up for them. According to him, today they can only be called an infantry unit.

“After they gave away the technique, naturally they became weaker. And if they represent a full-fledged unit, then only such an infantry unit, perhaps they went further around the country without weapons at all. Well, Putin said last night that PMCs do not exist. In general, I think that now they are in the process of some kind of reorganization, which was just conceived, discussed and connected with these agreements. And, probably, right now it’s too early to talk about what will happen, because too many different surprises and some strange turns in this whole process have already happened, ”said Matveev.

The military expert suggested that the Kremlin today took a course of silence on the issue of Prigozhin and his discredit. He noted that now the armed forces of the Russian Federation are looking for sympathizers for the founder of the Wagner PMC, but it is unlikely that their persecution will result in serious repression.

“We see how Putin himself literally put the brakes on the situation. Therefore, there is no, say, a basis for this, that is, how to justify all these repressions. That is, if they are, then they are probably some kind of undercover, more secret, ”Matveev believes.

He also noted that, judging by the statement of the already dismissed commander of the 58th army of the Russian Federation, Ivan Popov, Russian generals are not happy with Putin, but with the fact that they do not have the ability to “effectively seize Ukrainian territories and kill Ukrainian soldiers.”

“That is, in his speech there is nothing that the war is unjust. He talks about fallen comrades, about his subordinates. But at the same time, he does not express any claims to Putin, or to anyone else. I can assume that if some generals act with some kind of dissatisfaction, then most likely they are unlikely to say that war is wrong, unfair, criminal. Rather, they are talking specifically about problems, that they are not given the necessary equipment there, the orders are wrong, and so on, that is, they are not allowed to fight well. This is understandable, because a person who does not agree or is ready to disagree with Putin’s general line, with the line of the Ministry of Defense, and will think about something like that, does not get into the role of a general in Putin’s army. And if there were such people, then I do not exclude that they somehow stepped aside or even resigned, in fact, at the beginning of a full-scale invasion, ”said Matveev.
