A Russian chef is suspected of plotting with a foreign power in order to arrange “large scale” acts of “destabilisation” during the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

That’s according to The Guardian.

“A judicial investigation has been opened into allegations of sharing “intelligence with a foreign power with a view to provoking hostilities in France,” a crime punishable by 30 years of imprisonment,” The Guardian reported.

It is believed that a document proving his cooperation with FSB was found in a man’s apartment.

According to Le Monde, French intelligence services had been tracking the person for a few months. Two months ago, they recorded a call between the individual and a Russian intelligence services handler, and the suspect for some reason had mentioned that “the French are going to have an opening ceremony like there has never been before”.

The Russian citizen has been living in France for 14 years and described himself as a ‘private chef’. As he arrived in France, he spent some time in Courchevel, a ski resort crowded with the Russian elite.
