The head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, commenting on the negotiations between the US and NATO with Russia regarding its “security guarantees”, said that the proposal of the Russian Federation on non-expansion of NATO is unacceptable to all members of the European Union.

This is reported by UA with reference to a briefing by Josep Borrell.

“Ministers (EU – ed.) support the discussion on European security, which should be carried out in close coordination with the United States” – Borrell said.

He added that Russia received a very specific waiver of its restrictions on the expansion of the Alliance. The EU supports this approach.

To remind, Jens Stoltenberg previously said that during the negotiations in Brussels there was a serious discussion regarding Ukraine.
