Ukrainian photographers captured civilians killed by Russian troops in Vovchansk, Kharkiv Oblast, backing the recent claims of Ukrainian authorities.

The video was published on Instagram.

The footage also shows that Vovchansk, whish Russians are currently trying to seize, has been almost fully wiped out.

On May 22, Oleksii Kharkivskyi, the police chief of Vovchansk, stated that Russians soldiers shot several civilians who tried to flee the fighting in a comment for KYIV24.

On May 21, Kharkiv Oblast Governor Oleh Syniehubov reported that around 100 people remained in Vovchansk and were under the threat of being killed by Russian threats.

“We are continuing our evacuation efforts. A total of 10,700 people have been evacuated from the Lyptsi and Vovchansk areas. And as far as we know, there are 100 people in the city of Vovchansk who have been effectively taken hostage by the Russians and are being held under threat of execution,” Syniehubov said.

According to the statement of Ukrainian officials, the Armed Forces of Ukraine currently control 60% of Vovchansk.
