Russia is trying to weaken the world’s support for Ukraine by manipulating valuable topics, such as religion. Since the creation of such conflicts, first of all, changes the mood among the citizens of Kyiv’s partner countries. This was announced today, on March 19, on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel by Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the StopFake project Viktoriya Romanyuk.
“The most important task is to break the resistance of the allies so that support for Ukraine is weakened as much as possible. Make sure that mistrust and doubts begin. It is important for Russia to create conflicts in societies, for example, among religious groups, because this is pressure on the authorities from within. Russia is looking for pain points that are easy to play with in order to create all sorts of conflicts,” she said.
Romanyuk noted that because of this, Russia is provoking the societies of Ukraine’s partner countries, using fakes, the main theme of which is human values, as well as basic needs.
“It is language, religion, history, culture, as well as the economy, energy system and food. All the manipulations and fakes of Russian disinformation are built on these two pillars. The fake that the Ukrainian military allegedly cut bacon on the Koran was clearly aimed at the Turkish audience. It is about breaking the support that comes from the Turkish authorities through society, through religious structures. Because if the society rises, then the authorities will listen, first of all, to their citizens, counting on this, ”explained Victoria Romanyuk.
