Mateusz Morawiecki, former Prime Minister of Poland and member of the Polish Sejm, says Russia is able to influence any political group in the European Parliamentm including the one his domestic party, the Law and Justice party, belongs to.

That’s according to Euractiv.

“The Russians are very active in every [political] group,” Morawiecki said as he reacted to an investigation by Czech and Polish authorities, revealing a pro-Russian propaganda network in Europe. It was published at the end of March, 2024.

Polish politician admits that his party, Law and Justice, as well as the European Conservatives and Reformists party in the European Parliament, isn’t an exception.

“I’m sure ECR is also being infiltrated, or there are attempts to infiltrate, and I wouldn’t be surprised to know that this or that member is cooperating with the Russians because they are extremely successful in capturing people,” Morawiecki said.

Back in March, the Czech government banned the news site Voice of Europe, which, according to Prague, was part of a pro-Russian influence operation.

Also, the media reported, citing sources in Czech intelligence, that a far-right politician Petr Bystron, the German MP from the Alternative for Germany party, received €25,000 from a Russian propaganda network. He rejected the allegations.
