U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio reassured Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski that “no one has threatened to disconnect Ukraine from Starlink.”

Rubio made this statement in a post on X (formerly Twitter), dismissing Sikorski’s suggestions about the unreliability of Elon Musk’s SpaceX as a satellite service provider.

He also emphasized the critical role of Starlink in Ukraine’s defense, stating:

“No one has threatened to cut off Ukraine from Starlink. And be thankful—because without Starlink, Ukraine would have lost this war long ago, and Russian forces would now be at Poland’s border.”

Sikorski previously warned that Poland would be forced to seek an alternative provider if SpaceX proved to be an unreliable supplier of satellite communications.

His comments followed Elon Musk’s statement that Ukraine’s front line would collapse if Starlink were disconnected.

Polish officials have also cautioned that any move by Musk to cut Ukraine off from Starlink could trigger a “major international crisis.”

Meanwhile, the European Commission is reportedly exploring ways to assist Ukraine in securing satellite communications amid growing concerns over potential Starlink disruptions.
