“Resettled in 57 regions of the Russian Federation, including Siberia”: Deputy PM Vereshchuk named the number of Ukrainian children deported by Russia

Currently, there are more than 16,000 Ukrainian children in Russia, whom the Russians illegally took out of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. Of these, more than 2 thousand are orphans. This was announced today, March 21, by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Irina Vereshchuk during her visit to Kharkiv, FREEDOM informs.

“It is very difficult to confirm the number of deported children, because in Russia, in the best traditions of genocide, in the best traditions of a terrorist state, they change names, surnames, and resettle our children throughout the country. We have data that our children are settled in 57 regions of Russia, including Siberia,” she said.

According to the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets, another 15 Ukrainian children were returned to the country. They were returned together with their mothers and legal representatives. Even at the beginning of a full-scale invasion, they were taken out by Russian invaders from the captured cities of Kharkov and Kherson regions. According to the Ombudsman, 308 children have returned to Ukraine today.
