Mobilization will cause damage to the economy of the Russian Federation comparable to the losses from Western sanctions. Vasily Furman, Deputy Chairman of the Council of the National Bank of Ukraine, spoke about this on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel.
“The population felt the mobilization, many fell under it. The heads of enterprises that employ about 400 people are brought summonses and are told: “Give it to whoever you want, but 100 people should be at the military registration and enlistment office tomorrow at 09:00,” – he said.
The expert emphasized that for any enterprise to lose 25% of the staff is a very big problem. But this is exactly how the Russian authorities operate today.
“When these hundreds of thousands of mobilized people die, this will be the biggest “sanctions blow” to the Russian economy,” – expert emphasizes.
According to Furman, at the beginning of the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation, there were forecasts that the Russian economy would fall by 15-20%.
“But the forecasts have been corrected, because the sanctions were not introduced as quickly as we would like. As a result, this year Russia’s GDP should have been reduced by about 6%. But this forecast did not take into account the mobilization, which will cause very great damage to the economy,” – Vasily Furman summed up.
