Vladimir Putin has expressed his eagerness to develop partnership with Nicolas Maduro whose third presidential victory has been questioned by various world leaders.
This was reported by Russia’s MFA.
Naturally, Russia’s dictator says he wishes to continue “constructive cooperation on important bilateral matters” with Venezuela’s dictator who has been in power since 2013.
Putin is accompanied by China, Iran and Cuba leaders that have also congratulated Maduro.
On July 29, Venezuela’s electoral council, which supports government stance, after partial examination of ballots, announced that Maduro won 51 percent while opposition candidate Edmundo González’s won 44 percent. Still, independent polling suggests that González must have won twice as many votes as Maduro.
Meanwhile, democratic leaders have claimed they doubt the recent election was transparent and that Maduro can be considered a legitimate president.
“We have serious concerns that the result announced does not reflect the will or the votes of the Venezuelan people,” Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated on Monday, July 29, according to The Washington Post.
Also, Argentina’s President Javier Milei didn’t mince his words and said that Maduro is a ‘dictator’ who must ‘get out’.
“Venezuelans have chosen to end the communist dictatorship of Nicolas Maduro. The data announce a crushing victory for the opposition and the world is waiting for him to recognize the defeat after years of socialism, misery, decadence and death. Argentina will not recognize another fraud,” Milei wrote on X.
