In his opinion, Putin is sure that by brute force and blackmail he will strengthen his power and force everyone to play by his rules. The Russian dictator believes that time plays into his hands on the issue of war.
“He believes that he will achieve results, break through the international blockade, exhaust the patience of the West and Ukrainians, he will bring the population of Ukraine to their knees with bombing, and they will begin to negotiate with him. This is his plan. And the fact that he understands only the language of force, Erdogan showed it to everyone,” Gudkov said.
The expert noted that one should not try to see a person in Putin.
“This is not a person, but a creature that is obsessed with only one thirst – to save at the cost of any sacrifices its own life, influence, management, political power, everything,” the expert emphasized.
Gudkov noted that Putin will still use nuclear blackmail as soon as he starts losing seriously, loses, say, Melitopol or the corridor is cut.
“We will face you with more nuclear blackmail. You do not understand that you are dealing with a madman for whom other people’s lives mean nothing at all. Only his life matters, which depends on whether he retains power in the country or not, whether Western leaders will negotiate with him or not, ”the oppositionist said.
At the same time, Gudkov is confident that nuclear blackmail will not succeed, since Putin’s greatest fear is to die.
“This is the worst thing for him. This is what he is afraid of, he is afraid of his own death,” he added.
