Meeting of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President of the United States Joe Biden will take place on August 31.
This was announced by Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba at a briefing on August 18, UA informs.
According to the minister, there are currently no indications that the situation in Afghanistan may negatively affect the preparation for the meeting of the presidents.
“I would like to emphasize once again that we understand what a mess the United States is in. The situation in Washington is complicated now. We are ready to help our partners as much as we can, but as of now there are no negative signals”, – the minister said.
Dmytro Kuleba said that Volodymyr Zelenskyy would start his visit on August 30, and that the agenda would include a number of events in Washington, D.C. and California.
“These are two basic points for the president’s visit. No Ukrainian president has ever flown so far in the United States, never visited the other coast of the United States in the Pacific. Although California is the place of the largest IT companies, the space industry, and that is what makes Ukraine strong. Due to the expansion of the elements of the program of the visit, the meeting of heads of state will take place on August 31. We agreed with the United States to postpone this date to a day, in particular, because the format of the meeting of presidents has been expanded and will now include not only meeting of delegations, but also a face-to-face meeting”, – said the Minister.
