According to a poll, Republican candidate Donald Trump holds a slight lead over Vice President Kamala Harris among early voters in key battleground states.

The Hill reported this based on a Harvard CAPS/Harris poll, which shows 48% of early voters in these crucial states supporting Trump, while 47% back Harris. Another 5% of respondents either chose another option or had not yet voted.

The poll also reveals that among all voters in swing states, Trump leads with 48% compared to Harris’ 46%. However, Harris has an 8% lead nationwide among early voters, securing 51% of the vote versus Trump’s 43%.

Overall, 45% of voters plan to vote early, while 50% intend to cast their ballots on Election Day, November 5. The poll indicates a tight race in states like Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Pennsylvania, where both candidates are intensifying their campaigns.

Nationally, Harris holds a 3% lead over Trump according to a compilation of polls from The Hill/Decision HQ, with 50% support compared to Trump’s 47%. A separate Harvard CAPS/Harris poll shows Harris leading by just 1% among registered voters.

The poll, conducted between October 11-13, surveyed 3,145 registered voters, including 2,596 likely voters and 898 swing-state voters, with a margin of error of ±1.8%.

Recent polling suggests that Harris has gained voter confidence, especially in areas like trust and change, where Trump previously held a clear advantage. A Reuters/Ipsos poll similarly shows Harris ahead of Trump with 46% to his 43%. However, in battleground states, the difference between the two candidates remains within the margin of error.

Additionally, tensions have reportedly increased between Harris’ campaign and the White House as the election draws nearer.
