Poland’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Radosław Sikorski, has urged learning from Ukraine’s experience in modern warfare and called for increased investment in drone production.
His statement was reported by Polsat News.
Sikorski emphasized the need for greater investment in the defense industry.
“We must learn from Ukrainians what modern warfare looks like and build on what they already have,” he said.
According to the Polish foreign minister, Ukraine produced 1.5 million drones last year.
“This is their line of defense, and this year they aim to produce 4.5 million. I would dream of seeing our ‘Aviation Valley’ in Subcarpathia become a drone valley as well,” he concluded.
Sikorski has previously expressed the view that in future negotiations to resolve the war in Ukraine, Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin would not play a decisive role.
He also mentioned that one idea for financing joint European defense projects is the creation of a rearmament bank.
