Ukraine is ready to organize mass production of the most scarce ammunition.
Petro Poroshenko announced this during the opening of the production line for the manufacture of large caliber artillery shells at Artem, Ukroboronprom’s enterprise.
Petro Poroshenko said that in four years of the war artillery provided a reliable defense of the Ukrainian land. He said that in 2012-2013, there was an issue of utilization of ammunition, but the war changed everything very quickly.
He added that the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has developed a targeted program on his instructions to launch a new production of Ukrainian ammunition.
“We need new equipment, which nobody wanted to sell us in 2014. Despite the fact that the state, the military budget, the budget of the Ministry of Economy has been allocated to purchase new equipment. All the diplomatic efforts of the President of Ukraine, Ministry of Foreign Affairs were aimed to obtain the necessary licenses […] Many countries of the world supply this unique equipment for the defense industry of Ukraine today,” said Petro Poroshenko.
According to him, the first tests were successfully carried out in the first quarter of 2018.
“We are ready to organize mass production of the most scarce ammunition in the near future,” he said.
