Petro Poroshenko Plans to Make Amendments to the Constitution About Joining NATO

President Petro Poroshenko will initiate amendments to the constitution, which would strengthen Ukraine’s aspirations for NATO membership.

He announced this at celebrations in Kyiv on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the Secret Service of Ukraine, which is today, UNN reported. Celebrations took place on March 24.

“Membership to the alliance is our strategic goal. In the near future, I plan to initiate amendments to the constitution in order to make this process irreversible, indicating in the constitution, the strategic goal of the state’s development: membership to the European Union and membership to NATO.”

UATV earlier reported that NATO granted Ukraine with the status of an aspirant country.
