The Pentagon called on its allies to lift restrictions on the supply of lethal weapons to Ukraine to protect it against Russian aggression.
This was stated by Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia Laura Cooper, UA reports.
She reminded that the United States had already handed over anti-tank missile systems Javelin to Ukraine and Georgia, which became a clear example of military assistance to these countries.
Cooper stressed that the United States will continue to provide assistance to Ukraine in the field of defense and security.
“The first thing I want to mention is that I would like to see all our allies lift restrictions on the supply of lethal defense weapons. But many allies still maintain restrictions – some of them relate to defense assistance programs, but there are also those that relate to the sale of lethal weapons” – she said.
Earlier, Ukraine received a second batch of weapons from the United States.
