Path to the Alliance and Military Reinforcement: the President of Ukraine Met with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and the NATO Secretary General

A trilateral meeting of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Keir Starmer and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte took place in London.

The leaders noted the symbolic nature of Mark Rutte’s first visit to Ukraine as the new NATO Secretary General, calling it a clear demonstration of the Alliance’s priorities.

The key topics of the talks were Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic integration and military reinforcement. According to the President, these are the steps that will create the best conditions for restoring a just peace.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke in detail about daily airstrikes by the Russian Federation against civilians and facilities, including the energy grid, as well as recent attacks on the Black Sea Grain Initiative infrastructure.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the swift implementation of NATO Washington Summit decisions, in particular, on strengthening Ukraine with new air defense systems, enhancing aviation capabilities, and allied investments in Ukrainian production of shells, drones, and long-range weaponry.
