U.S. participation in negotiations in the Minsk or Normandy formats to resolve the situation in Donbass is being actively discussed.
Oksana Markarova, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States, informed the ICTV’s “Fakty” program about this, UA reports.
“Our answer in this regard is very simple and straightforward. We would very much like to involve the United States as an active participant in the negotiations in any format. We are actively discussing this, because the issue of restoring territorial integrity and the issue of returning our territories is a key one. Therefore, we would like to welcome those countries that can help us speed up this process” – she explained.
Markarova added that protecting the territorial integrity of our state and counteracting Russian aggression is not only a question of defending Ukraine, but also an answer to the question of whether international law, which Russia neglected when occupying Ukrainian territories, works at all.
To remind, the U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin called Russia the culprit of the armed conflict in Donbas.
