An important step in the activities of the “Crimean Platform” will be the adoption at the end of the summit of the final declaration – the Crimean Charter. This was stated by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova, UATV informs referring to “Ukrinform“.

According to her, participation in the “Crimean Platform” means not only support for Ukraine in the issue of peaceful de-occupation of Crimea, but also the protection of international law.

“An important step will be not only participation in the summit, but also the adoption of a final declaration. The content of the charter will be to support the territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine within internationally recognized borders and to outline the framework of international policy on Crimea”, Dzhaparova said.

She stressed that the participation of countries in the “Crimean Platform” is “a signal about the inadmissibility of changing borders by force.”

Dzhaparova also noted that the participation of a certain number of foreign heads of state and government has been confirmed, and this number is growing.

“We do not publish a specific list of confirmed participants for protocol reasons. The participation of the President of the European Council Charles Michel was publicly confirmed, and the United States announced that it would be represented at a high level, without naming a specific position”, Dzhaparova said.

The Crimean Charter is a document that will be signed by the member states of the “Crimean Platform” and which will fix the policy of non-recognition of the occupation of Crimea, the policy of pressure on the Russian Federation and condemnation of the crimes.

According to UATV, Refat Chubarov, the head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, called on Ukraine to offer the toughest sanctions against Russia during the Crimean Platform summit.
