Observers from the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) recorded more than 600 explosions in Donbas from 19:30 on February 2 to 19:30 on February 4 while monitoring the process of withdrawal of forces and assets, as well as intent to obtain unlimited access to withdrawal areas, according to the report of  the OSCE website.

“From the evening of February 2 to the evening of February 3 the Mission recorded a similar number of ceasefire violations, but the number of explosions was smaller (about 340) than during the previous reporting period, when, among other things, there were about 1,100 explosions. Between the evenings of February 3-4 the SMM recorded a decrease of number of ceasefire violations compared to the previous day, recording about 290 explosions “, according to the statement.

It is reported that observers recorded explosions in the southwestern outskirts of Avdiivka. In turn, the number of ceasefire violations in the Luhansk region decreases.

“Small arms were fired toward an SMM unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). On February 3, while controlling the flight of the mini-UAV at the Armed Forces of Ukraine heavy armament holding area in Donetsk region, observers heard 6 shots of small-arms fire in about 300-500 m north-east of its position. According to the estimates, the shots were fired from the territory of the holding area. According to the mission’s patrol, the fire was directed at SMM UAV, which eventually was landed safely”, Mission members say.

Moreover, the mission observers continued recording non-withdrawn weapons.

Donbas militants are trying to intimidate the OSCE patrols.
